According to the legend, beasts are afraid of red, fire, and noise, which is why customs such as posting couplets, setting off firecrackers, and playing gongs and drums exist. Customs vary across different periods, regions, and ethnic groups.
As we all know, China is a big family composed of 56 ethnic groups. The Spring Festival is also celebrated by various ethnic minorities. People of all ethnic groups hold different celebrations according to their customs, each with its own unique national style. Over the course of thousands of years of history, certain customs for celebrating this festival have become relatively fixed, and many cultural traditions have been passed down and carried forward.
On New Year's Eve, people wear beautiful clothes, gather with family members, prepare a table of delicious food, and exchange New Year's greetings in a grand and solemn manner. People sing and dance, bid farewell to the old year, welcome the new, and look forward to a prosperous country and a better life for everyone in the coming year!
